But for the dam built by these animals, the fuel would have flown into Willard Bay

More often than not, animals are the ones that need us to protect their natural habitats. Still, every once in a while, people come to understand that wildlife can fend for itself.

Long story short, two beaver siblings living close to Salt Lake City are now referred to as heroes, all thanks to their dam's keeping a significant amount of diesel fuel from leaking into Willard Bay.

The two beavers were later on discovered all covered in sludge by rescuers, who took them to the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Ogden.

“They were dripping with (diesel fuel). The smell was absolutely overpowering,” the Center's Executive Director, DaLyn Erickson, reportedly said.

“The animal that people complain about building dams, their dams actually saved Willard Bay, which is a critical habitat,” the director went on to argue.

Hopefully, the beavers will soon feel well enough to be released back into the wild.
