Fashionistas who would kill for a Birkin bag don't have to put their name on the never-ending waiting list anymore, because a private collection will go up for sale at Bonhams next month, the Daily Mail informs.

Of course, those interested will have to dig deep into their savings because, as they must already know, these totes don't come cheap at all.

On the bright side, neither do they lose value in time like, say, a car. A Hermes Birkin is, if anything, an investment.

In this sense, the collection that will go under the hammer next month is double the investment, since it includes some of the oldest and most expensive styles ever created.

“A selection of stunning Hermes handbags from a private collection is to go under the hammer at Bonhams next month,” the Mail informs.

The British tab also has photos of the items that are expected to find new owners soon, including the estimated price they might fetch.

Useless to say, most of them are downright eyewatering, as is the case with a brown mate crocodile Birkin that could be sold for £12,000 ($19,180 / €14,647.9).

“Sold as part of the Knightsbridge auction house's Jewellery sale on 16 May, the collection of 64 iconic bags will feature exotic pieces in crocodile, ostrich and lizard,” says the publication.

“Included in the sale are versions of the renowned Kelly and Birkin bags, among a selection of other styles dating from the 1950s to 2008,” the Mail adds.

Celebrities who have often been spotted with a Birkin on their arm, such as Victoria Beckham, Kim Kardashian, Hilary Duff or Kelly Brook (to name just a few) should mark the date in their calendar, because this is a one-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get their hands on some incredibly gorgeous and valuable pieces.
