Don't tell anyone – except your usual shopping buddies, maybe – but there is a brand new selection of highly fashionable and fairly luxurious items on display and sale at the Hermès store on London's New Bond Street.

What makes these items stand out is the fact that, unlike the house's regular output, they are made from bits and pieces of leftover materials that result from Hermès' regular working agenda and that would have otherwise been thrown away.

The idea to recycle them belongs to Pascale Mussard, who now runs an atelier dubbed “petit h” and who takes great pleasure finding new uses for offcuts.

“I am always shocked when you throw away something – it makes me more than sad. I cannot imagine that you would not try and save something by giving it another use. So I thought I would see what I could do with these leftovers,” Pascale Mussard commented on this initiative, as cited by The Telegraph.

The temporary “petit h” sale in London is scheduled to run from November 20 until December 7. Bags, cupholders and mirrors are just some of the items on display.
