Microsoft is often referred to as the Redmond-based software company, but Steve Ballmer repeatedly said that he wants to migrate towards a devices and services firm.

He mentioned the same thing in the letter he sent to shareholders, explaining that Microsoft is no longer just the famous Windows producer, but the creator of several devices and services.

“Last year in this letter I said that over time, the full value of our software will be seen and felt in how people use devices and services at work and in their personal lives. This is a significant shift, both in what we do and how we see ourselves — as a devices and services company,” Ballmer said in the letter.

And the living proof is right here: Microsoft has updated its corporate website to show everyone that it’s a devices and services company now.
