Anne Hathaway does Miley Cyrus' “Wrecking Ball” justice on Spike's Lip Sync Battle

The latest episode of Spike’s hilarious Lip Sync Battle, inspired by Jimmy Fallon’s celebrity skit of the same name but brought to the next level, included 2 of the most amazing performances so far. The contestants were actresses Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt.

Teasers for the episode promised a hilarious but faithful recreation of Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” video by Anne, and as you can see in the clip below, which is of the full battle, they weren’t deceiving in the least.

Anne killed it as Miley, going all out there in recreating some of the most controversial and popular moments from the video, including the hammer licking and the riding of an actual wrecking ball.

So to answer the question of how could Emily possibly top that: she couldn’t. She performed first and chose Janis Joplin’s “Piece of My Heart,” and while she did an amazing job, by the time Anne was done, even she admitted that she’d been defeated.

The full battle is in the first video below. The other videos are a teaser of the other, less flashy battle, which saw Emily try her hand at rapping and twerking, on “No Diggity,” and her pre-show preparations. Enjoy!
