No point in letting old, dead lenses languish in some random box

Compact cameras, especially pocketable ones, have small lenses, and often the ability to pull the lens in, until it doesn't reach beyond the plane of the camera body. Larger ones are a different matter though.

In fact, professional cameras, or even larger than usual consumer models, have lenses whose diameter is longer than the width of a person's wrist.

It is that small detail that designer Stefaan duPont, from SDPNT latched onto when he came up with his latest project.

And by project, we mean a certain collection of jewelry pieces.

Long story short, Stefaan duPont created a collection of bracelets made from the remains of once-functional vintage lenses.

More specifically, he used the husks to make unique, authentic bracelets, although the prices are a bit disheartening: $220 / €168.44 and up.
