No, we’re not over yet. People are still saying that Windows 8 is confusing, even though it has been released two months ago, and what’s worse, they’re still recording their parents while struggling to use the new operating system.

This time, someone’s mom spends approximately five minutes to figure out how to shut down Windows 8 so yes, this is one more attempt to prove everyone that Microsoft’s new Windows is not quite user-friendly, at least not for beginners.

And the truth is, shutting Windows 8 down may be a bit of a problem since you first need to log off, but seriously now, there’s no doubt that 99 percent of Windows users know that pressing Alt + F4 on the desktop brings up the power options dialog.

Still, some people find it confusing, so have a look at this video and use the comment box after the jump to let us know what you think.

You don't need to log off first. Hover to either two of the right corners to bring up the charms, then Settings, Power, Shut Down. Though I agree it'd be nice for not-so-in-the-know users if the option to shut down was listed below sign out on the Start Screen.

My wife got her iPad for 2 months. Up till now, the only thing she can do by herself is turn on/off the iPad. The rest still need hand holding. And I know a lot of parents need the help of their kids to use iPad. So iPad is not as user friendly as people think.

I personally think that someone in Microsoft hates users from the time of office 2007 and windows Vista. In Vista and office 2007 - 2010 the changes were for worse, but they are still usable. But I was afraid how will next system look from the time I saw Vista, and it seem that I was right. (Windows 7 were only Vista how it was originally planned) Microsoft wants to abandon mouse and force users to touchscreen and professionals to command line, approach which even Linux abandoned. Linux and MacOs should profit from this situation, but I will have to learn command line.

You're a little misleading, you don't have to log off first. You can bring the charm bar by going with the mouse pointer in the upper right corner and choose settings, power, shut down. (or press Win + I and choose power, shut down).

Don't you guys at Softpedia got better news to show? I think it's the 5th video of this kind (people failing to use Windows 8) I've seen posted. I'm not trying to be mean but I know you guys can post news of better quality.
