Jared Leto’s post-Oscars gig might prove an even bigger challenge than that of breathing life into an HIV-infected trans-woman named Rayon in “Dallas Buyers Club,” the role that won him an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

In “Suicide Squad,” which will be out in 2016, he will be taking over the role of The Joker after Heath Ledger’s near-perfect performance in “The Dark Knight,” the second Batman installment in Christopher Nolan’s trilogy.

Ledger’s Joker is considered the best acted and most frightening villain on film, so taking over from him, let alone trying to top that, will prove a huge task. But Warner Bros. has faith in him, as also do many of his fans.

Leto is said to be working out and eating more than usual to gain a bit more muscle mass, and he’s also cut off his long hair, bleaching it platinum blonde so that green be applied more easily later. He’s also shaved his beard and his eyebrows, and is ready to get on set to start shooting scenes.

The Vine below was posted online 10 days ago, but for some reason, it’s just now getting proper attention: it seems to show Leto doing The Joker voice during a 30 Seconds to Mars concert. Either that or he really likes to talk funny like that.

Assuming this is his Joker voice, which is probably the case, do you like it? Let me know in the comments.
