One of the most buzzed about ads coming out of this year’s Super Bowl, the Super Bowl XLVII, was Coca Cola’s multilingual “It’s Beautiful” commercial, which featured the song “America the Beautiful” sung in various languages.

As it so happens, this was also the most controversial commercial to air during the big game, upsetting many Americans who deemed it downright blasphemous for including the song in any other language than English.

Coca Cola, as expected, is staying mum on the topic, but it’s letting its “It’s Beautiful” campaign do all the talking for it, perhaps in the hope that it will show the people at home that the goal was never to offend but to show that America is beautiful precisely because it’s so diverse.

The company has released more behind the scenes footage for the ad, showcasing each individual singer that covered “America the Beautiful” in a different language – and her thoughts on the campaign and on being asked to be part of it.

As you probably guessed, the words “honored,” “happy,” and “beautiful” come up a lot. Whether these videos will be enough to appease the Americans who took offense with the ad (which you can find in full above) remains to be seen.
