New details emerge regarding the features of Apple’s upcoming iOS

Only a handful of people have been lucky enough to catch a glimpse at the upcoming iOS revision, and now one person who has been given a “quick peek” at the software reveals what iOS 7 will look like.

Seth Weintraub says he’s seen an early beta of iOS 7. He’s also been told he can’t post any screenshots “because Apple embeds little watermarks that could land the source in some trouble.”

It seems Apple throws in little indicators specific to each beta build that can identify the tester who leaked the photos.

The new iOS UI reportedly has “‘skinny jeans’ Helvetica Nueue Ultra Light,” and the carrier signal bars at the top have been replaced with five dots that are become whiter when the signal is stronger.

Based on the “sneak peek,” the following icons have been mocked up in Photoshop, giving us an idea of the direction Apple has chosen.

iOS 7 includes two color schemes for many of the apps it comes pre-loaded with, namely black and white.

It is being speculated that iPhones colored black will get the former scheme, whereas iPhones colored white will get the latter. If so, that would be a bold design move on behalf of Apple.

Another way Apple could juggle the two color schemes would be to adapt the coloring based on ambient light (time of the day).

Just as interesting, and perhaps even more doable, considering Apple couldn’t throw in a simple On/Off switch for those who don’t care much about these tweaks.

“When in ‘Black mode,’ the keyboard is black with gray letters. In ‘white mode,’ gray keys with white letters – a little like Android,” according to Weintraub.

Apple Maps will feature an updated walking directions function, while the grouped table views are also tweaked.

Airdrop, which has already been said to be included in iOS 7, sports a share menu that “has a sideways scrollable row on top of the device and computer airdrop photos like the circles with a pic of them,” a source tells 9to5mac.
