14 DAY TRIAL // We reported last month that there was a way of installing the movie piracy Popcorn Time application on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch devices, but it required access to a computer with the Microsoft Windows operating system.
Well, this is not the case anymore, as the resourceful developers behind the Popcorn Time project have just released the first iOS Installer application for Apple's Mac OS X operating systems.
In other words, you will now be able to install the Popcorn Time app on your iPhone or iPad directly from your Mac computer. We remind you that this method does not require a jailbroken device.
The Popcorn Time iOS Installer works on Mac OS X 10.7 and above. Please note that it is distributed as a PKG file, not a DMG, and you can download it right now from the Popcorn Time website.
Here's how to install Popcorn Time for iOS from your Mac
To install Popcorn Time for iOS using the iOS Installer, double-click the PKG file and follow the on-screen instructions. After installation, search and open the iOS Installer app through Spotlight.
Use the USB cable to connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod device to the Mac computer where you've installed the Popcorn Time iOS Installer, while making sure the device is unlocked.
Press the "Trust" button when asked if you want to trust this computer, then enable the Airplane mode, and wait for the Popcorn Time app to be downloaded and installed on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch device.
At some point, you will have to disable the "Find my iPhone" feature if it's enabled. After the restore process, your iOS device will reboot and you should see the Popcorn Time app on your screen. Make sure that Airplane mode is on, then open the app. Close it, disable AirPlane mode and open the app again.
The download process might take a while, as the Popcorn Time servers are crowded by hundreds of thousands of users who want to install the app on their iOS devices. Please keep in mind that using Popcorn Time to watch movies is illegal in some countries!
