Canonical shows us video instructions on the origami unicorn

After announcing last week the Ubuntu Origami Unicorn contest, which can bring an awesome new BQ Aquaris E4.5 Ubuntu Edition phone to a user that folds the best-looking Unicorn, today Canonical decided that it’s finally time to show the world how to make the perfect origami unicorn.

I was just complaining in my previous article about the fact that the instructions offered by Canonical in the well-known PDF file are quite hard to read/understand if you’ve never created an origami before, so this video is just what the doctor ordered. I’m gonna go now and fold a new origami unicorn following the instructions in the video, and post a photo here later with the result.

“Origami represents the visual style for the Ubuntu phone. In this video our origami expert Mark is giving us a beautiful demo, showing us how to create the perfect Unicorn as part of the finger tip challenge. With his help why not get involved by crafting, snapping your creation to Instagram with #fingertipchallenge and leaving it to the public to choose a winner.”

The video has been posted on YouTube earlier today, March 30, on their celebrateubuntu channel. You can watch it below and try to follow the steps to fold the perfect Ubuntu origami unicorn, then make a nice photo of it and upload it to your Instagram account with the #fingertipchallenge hashtag, that if you want to win the first ever Ubuntu Phone.
