You don't even need a limo to do it, all you need is patience

They say that all you need is love, and when it comes to turning cars into technological wonders, at least on the inside, it's true that all you need is love. Love of peace and quiet that is.

Sure, having a TV installed in front of your backseat won't exactly make your life truly quiet, but it's preferable to the constant chatter and/or complaints of your children when you're driving them somewhere and already have a budding migraine.

But we're getting ahead of ourselves. We haven't actually said what we are talking about, though we hinted at it.

A certain someone posted, on Instructables, a guide to the installation of a 19-inch TV in your car. The guide also shows how to do the same to an Xbox 360 game console.

Thus, if you want to provide your hyperactive kids with an occupation while you drive them wherever, this should work perfectly.

Instructables user rochassassin was about to embark on a 36-hour ride with his family, and he just knew it would be a pain in the head at times if he didn't do something about it. Hence the gallery embedded below.

We'd have loved to have a video of the process, but rochassassin didn't make one. And we don't blame him really. The process isn't exactly short, and he did provide photos of each step, so we can't complain.

A few notes though: installing the TV could interfere with the use of the rear-view mirror, so keep that in mind if you use it often. Cops might also take offense to the modification because of that.

Also don't forget that the car battery will deplete somewhat faster. Sure, there are plenty of low-power monitors and TVs out nowadays, so the drain will be low on their part, but the console is a different matter. Besides, no matter how small, a drain is still a drain.

Then again, that shouldn't be too much of a sacrifice when faced with hours upon hours of road trips that would otherwise be ten times a stressful and, at least for the ones riding in the back, boring.
