Auto Mower - the Roomba of gardens

Household robots are becoming increasingly popular nowadays, as they are capable of carrying out various tasks on their own, without any serious human intervention. And that seems to be exactly the case with the Auto Mower developed by Husqvarna, a device that can take care of the user's lawn without requiring any intervention or guidance.

Thus, before starting up the robot, all the users have to do is establish a boundary loop along the edges of the lawn. After that, the Auto Mower will start mowing the lawn automatically, with a continuous action, while the cuttings are redistributed to the ground as fertilizer. Moreover, it features a very secure, yet efficient cutting system, formed out of razor-like pivoted blades.

Moreover, unlike other lawnmower machines, which are powered by gasoline, the device from Husqvarna is completely electric and thus quite eco-friendly. And since we're talking about power, it's worth mentioning the fact that the robot even recharges by itself, finding its way to the charging station and then returning to the lawn automatically, fully charged.

The device features a graphic display and a keypad, used to easily customize the mower to various gardens and requests. Thus, users can change the cutting height (20-60 mm), but not the width, which remains constant at 22 cm. Moreover, the robot sports a timer, which allows the user to set the exact times when the device should start mowing.

The Auto Mower also sports a security system as well, as the blades will automatically stop as soon as the Automower is lifted from the ground. Moreover, the collision sensors stop and reverse the mower when it lightly bounces in to objects, while the blades are quite out of reach, in order to prevent accidents. A PIN code and an alarm prevent unauthorized use.

The device retails for an estimated 2000 US dollars, which is quite an OK price to pay for such a device, taking into consideration just how useful this thing can prove to be around the house.
