In case you're planning to buy it, you'd better pick a brand first

The recent announcement of 8800 GTX/GTS cards has already traveled around the world twice. And as always, with it came the press releases from most Nvidia integrators in which they confirmed the availability of their G80 based products. There's plenty of good news coming from most of them, since the products are already on stores.

BFG announced that its GTX and GTS cards running on Nvidia's specs would be priced at $700 and $500. A future water-cooled version will be available at a whopping $800. That may be worth paying for, since it's not only silent but also occupies a single slot.

PNY and eVGA cards are also available with the price tag of $659 on Newegg. As for their GTS counterparts you can also find them in stores as high as $499. XFX, Msi and Gigabyte follow the crowd with their products ranging between $499 (for 8800 GTS) and $659 (for 8800 GTX).

As a word of advice, always check the availability of the product before you make an order, since even large suppliers have the cards present on the web sites but not on stock. And with that being said, I hope you'll enjoy your weekend with an 8800 card.
