The 15th annual Interactive Achievements Awards have just taken place yesterday evening during the DICE summit in Las Vegas, offering prizes to games that managed to excel in their genres and push the industry forward.
As opposed to various other
video game awards, the IAAs are handed out not by the media or professional reviewers, but by the 20,000 members of the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences.
As such, the Interactive Achievements Awards are some of the most prestigious prizes that can be given to games.
The 15th edition has just ended in Las Vegas and, while most winners weren’t that surprising, including
Skyrim,
Uncharted 3, or
Portal 2, there are quite a few odd choices, like
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s win for best action game, and some pleasant ones, like the impressive
Orcs Must Die which won Strategy game of the year.
