Jennifer Lawrence talks to Vanity Fair about her ideal man: and he’s just like her

Jennifer Lawrence has started doing promo work for the latest installment in the “Hunger Games” franchise, “Mockingjay Part 1,” and for “Serena,” and she’s talking to Vanity Fair in her first interview since she was publicly shamed in the celebrity photo hacking scandal.

We already know from the previews released online that she doesn’t like to think of the scandal as such, labeling it as a “crime” and asking for the culprits to be brought to justice, while also shaming all those who looked at her personal photos posted online without her consent by telling them they’re also a part of the problem.

The full interview is now out and, it seems, it’s not as bitter as the preview would have had us believe. In fact, when she’s talking about the things she looks for in a man the moment the thought of romance pops up in her mind, she’s the same Jennifer we got to know during her Oscar campaign last year: funny, smart, relatable, real.

Jennifer wants a guy who shares her passions

Jennifer Lawrence is the opposite of what you’d expect a female movie star / celebrity to be: she likes to watch reality television and is not ashamed to admit it, she likes to eat and is the first to barge over to the catering table in between takes, and she’s not afraid to speak her mind.

Today’s female celebrities are all molded after what has been deemed a successful “recipe,” and because of it, they often come across as rehearsed (at best) or fake (at worst).

Jennifer has won over the public precisely because she’s not like that, and her perceived determination to stay true to herself no matter what is getting her more and more fans each day.

So, is it really surprising that she wants a man who’s just like her? No, not at all, if you think about it. So, if you’re considering calling her up to ask her out, the first thing you should know is that Jennifer only wants men who share her passions.

This Oscar-winning actress likes reality television and she wants a guy who’ll sit on the couch with her at night, to watch her favorite shows and talk them over. He can’t be of an argumentative character because she doesn’t see the point of fighting. It’s “unattractive” and she’d rather they just talked and watched TV and had fun.

More importantly, Jennifer’s idea of a perfect guy includes a mention regarding his willingness to pass gas in front of her. This sounds way more gross than it really is, because what she’s practically saying is that she wants someone with whom she can be herself and who will, in turn, be himself around her. And who doesn’t want that?

“You know, [a guy who] isn’t afraid to fart in front of me [rather] than to have big, passionate love. I’d rather have just a peaceful time. [Those relationships] are deeper because you can be your true self with somebody, and somebody can be their true self with you,” she says.

Last but not least, Jennifer wants a guy who doesn’t stick to calorie-restrictive diet, who will share her passion for food and wouldn’t mind having spaghetti with meatballs in the morning, leftovers from the night before.

Jennifer Lawrence is just like us, only famous and rich

This new Vanity Fair interview serves as whatever proof you still needed that she’s incredibly relatable. Nay, Jennifer is almost like us, only famous and rich, which explains why she’s so popular. That is, aside from the fact that she’s very talented and has made very smart career choices so far.

Jennifer is a regular woman who loves her job and her life, and who has attained international fame by just being herself. So what she wants from a man is someone with whom she can cuddle at the end of the working day, who would not mind that she’s famous – or use her to get his 15 minutes in the spotlight.

That said, after reading all this, it’s not hard to understand why she’s Hollywood’s darling right now, is it?
