Mirror's Edge has been hyped up to be a truly innovative title which would take the first person game genre to a whole new height in terms of gameplay, design and interactivity with the environment surrounding the player. It puts the player in the running shoes of a character named Faith, a courier in a futuristic dystopia in which a totalitarian government rules the city with an iron fist, and where the rooftops of buildings are the only remotely safe locations.

The game features innovative parkour moves, which makes Faith one of the most agile characters ever featured in a videogame. It won critical acclaim thanks to its new systems but scored badly on the weak story and the fact that some of the jumps were very hard, meaning that Faith would have to hit the sidewalk quite a lot of times until players landed the jumps.

The title, developed by Electronic Arts' DICE, has already been launched for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 and will be available for PC users in mid-January, boasting new content. One of the most important features to be added to the this PC version is the support of PhysX graphics, which will allow users owning Nvidia graphics boards to see a much more realistic city in the game.

But with this announcement, a lot of PC users began wondering how their own configuration would handle the new game. Now, it seems that the people at DICE want to address these worries and have published the official system requirements for the game. Here they are, as found on Shacknews:

Operating System - Microsoft Windows XP SP2 / Vista;  Processor - Intel Pentium 4 3.0GHz or 100% compatible equivalent;  Memory - 1GB RAM;  Video Card - 256MB memory with Shader Model 3.0;  HDD Space - 8GB;  DVD Drive - 1x DVD Drive;  Soundcard - Soundcard with DirectX 9.0c compatibility;  DirectX - DirectX 9.0c;  Network - An online connection is required for access to Leaderboards.

All in all, these are quite average requirements, sure to make a lot of people very happy that their PC will run this innovative game. Until Faith lands on our computers, we can still enjoy the console versions of this game and wait for the DLC that will arrive shortly after the PC launch.
