All about sales and fixes

Fallout 3 was one of the most expected titles this year, largely due to the massive fan base that this post apocalyptic series has. Although there were some worries regarding the fact that Bethesda Softworks, the company responsible for the hit RPG series The Elder Scrolls, took this project from the original developer of the series, Interplay Entertainment, the game offered a great experience.

So great in fact that Bethesda recently announced that the game had moved over 4.7 million copies since it was launched, on October 28 in the United States, and several days later in all other territories. These units generated sales of over 300 million dollars, way past Bethesda's wildest dreams in terms of profit for this title. Although the game was launched for all of the major platforms, PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the company doesn't yet have a distinct platform sales chart, but if you take into account the fact that the expected DLC content will not be coming to the PS3 version of the game, then you can figure out that sales for that platform weren't very strong.

Also, the company has announced that it has launched the 1.0.0.15 patch for Fallout 3, which comes to fix a few glitches that caused the game to crash under certain conditions. Random crashes that occurred when exiting the game or using the Alt+Tab combination of keys to minimize it have been fixed and those who want to download it can do so right here.

For those of you who don't know, Fallout 3 is a game set in a post apocalyptic future, where a nuclear war took place, which left the planet in radioactive ruins. The only safe spots were the Vaults, places sealed off from the outside world, where people lived under the eyes of a Big Brother, which guaranteed them safety. The main character is a man who lived all his life in a Vault situated in the Washington area, and now he must leave the safety of the shelter, in order to find his father.

The game has intertwined elements of shooters and RPGs (Role Playing Games) and has both a third and first person view. It is very innovative in terms of gameplay and has gained critical acclaim for the fresh approach to a post apocalyptic future.
