Verzio, an electronics manufacturer from Singapore, announced the release of its latest Pocket PC, the Verzio Envii, targeted for the Asian market. Verzio Envii brings both advanced functionality and a nice design, together with the business features that are included in every Windows Mobile device.

The new handset offers tri-band GSM (900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) connectivity, as well as dual-band UMTS/HSDPA for high data transfer speeds (up to 3.6 Mbps), a 2.7 inch TFT touchscreen with 262K colors and 240 x 320 pixels, Flick Dynamic Menu (for quickly accessing applications), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, IrDA 1.2, a 2 Megapixel camera (with strobe LED flash, macro mode and video recording), secondary video-call camera in the front, Music player (MP3, WAV, WMA, AMR and MIDI), high-quality dual speakers, 2.5mm audio jack, FM radio with RDS, miniUSB, 1GB of Flash memory, microSD card support for up to another 4GB.

Moreover, the device relies on a Marvel processor at 624 MHz and packs a 1530 mAh battery capable of providing up to 200 hours of stand-by time, up to 4 hours of GSM talk-time and up to (only) 2 hours of UMTS talk-time. The Envii measures 106 x 58 x 18 millimeters and weighs 145 grams - not exactly slim and lightweight, but no Pocket PC has these attributes. Even so, the Envii looks pretty nice, mostly because of its fresh design.

Since it runs on Windows Mobile 6.0, Verzio Envii features applications like Office Mobile, Outlook Mobile, Pocket Internet Explorer, Instant Messaging, Media player 10 Mobile, ActiveSync, file manager and so on.

There's no word yet about the exact Asian markets that will get the Verzio Envii, nor about the price. But users should know that, in the Philippines for example, where the new Pocket PC is already available, it costs 29,900 pesos, meaning about 700 USD or 440 Euros. Therefore, the handset should have a similar price in all the other countries too.

I'm sorry to say that I was not impressed with the phone since it lasted me only three weeks of usage.Problems encountered was frequent rebooting, hanging, delayed messages, rejecting of incoming calls were only a few problems which I encountered.
