No fatalities have been registered in the Hudson landing

A helicopter pilot has been forced to make an emergency landing in the Hudson River on Sunday, June 30.

The helicopter was carrying four tourists from Sweden on a tour of New York City, the AP reported. Authorities describe that the aircraft landed near 79th Street by the New York City Marina.

The photo posted above this blog entry was snapped by News 12 reporters on site. The pilot and all four passengers have been rescued by a boater and they have not been injured.

According to Deputy Fire Chief Thomas McKavanaugh, the pilot lost engine power 12 minutes after takeoff from the Wall Street Heliport. The tour on the Bell 206 was being offered by the New York Helicopter company.
