Helal Linux Light 1.0, an Ubuntu-based operating system with support for Arabic languages powered by the LXDE desktop environment, has been released today.

Being powered by Linux kernel 3.2, the most important feature of Helal Linux Light 1.0 is the fact that it is based on Lubuntu 12.04, making it accessible to users with older computers.

Highlights of Helal Linux Light 1.0:

· A light version of Helal Control Center is now available; · Support for Arabic language and extra fonts has been added; · Some Islamic apps such as Othman and Hijra have been added; · Flash playe, some extra codecs for multimedia and gnome-mplayer have been added; · Mozilla Thunderbird 13 has been added; · GIMP 2.6 has been added; · Pidgin, Filezilla, xfburn, Gnome Paint, and many other application have been added.
