With swirling reports that
they’re as broke as it gets, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are giving their 15 minutes of fame one last go in order to make a quick buck, says the
New York Post. The two reality stars recently put out the rumor that the other was having an affair, in the (vain) hope that tabloids would buy it – and they asked no less than $100,000 for it, states the aforementioned media outlet.
As we also informed you, Heidi reportedly hired a private investigator to look into Spencer Pratt’s financial situation because she believed he was spending her money with another woman. At the same time, word “mysteriously” got out online that Heidi too was seeing one of her bodyguards: it was all part of a very well thought plan on cashing in on media coverage.
“Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag won’t let anything get in the way of their quest for fame – not even reality. They’ve been pushing their split by trying to sell a made-up story that Heidi may be cheating with Spencer’s close pal, Marine-turned-bodyguard Cougar Zank. A source told us, ‘Heidi and Spencer are trying to play out a fake reality show in the press and get paid along the way. They’ve been approaching magazines and Web sites to buy the fake story of Zank having an affair with Heidi. They’ve been asking for $100,000. But no one is interested as they don’t sell magazines’,” the Post writes.
Come to think of it, voices on the blogosphere are saying, this all makes sense, since the two are known to strike deals with the paparazzi and the tabloids in exchange for details on their personal lives – and it was a pap agency that broke the story of Heidi hiring a PI. Moreover, speculation has it that the two spent whatever money they made on “The Hills” and with side projects on ridiculous aspects and personal stuff, like Heidi’s catastrophic music career and Spencer’s recently discovered love of crystals and military style combat.
“Heidi and Spencer share a bank account, and it’s no secret that Spencer has been spending her money like crazy. She obviously knows that she makes way more money than he does, and he knows that, too. People think this separation is fake, but it’s 100% real because she knows Spencer is ripping her off. The divorce definitely should be happening by the end of the week or by early next week, but the separation had to happen first until she gets her finances squared away,” an unnamed source told X17 Online a short while ago, as we
also reported.
