Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are the perfect example of how you can achieve fame and become rich without actually having a particular skill, by simply selling your personal life as a product. The former reality stars have long slipped into a corner of shadow, from which they will emerge on December 9.

After “The Hills,” which marked the peak of their fame, Heidi and Spencer struggled to stay relevant, even faking their own divorce to get media attention. In more recent months, whatever press they still get comes from her addiction to plastic surgery and their now-gone stardom.

This is precisely the topic of an upcoming television special that will air on E! at the beginning of next month. It’s called “After Shock: Heidi & Spencer” and will focus on how the former millionaire celebrities are dealing with life after fame.

“The second [The Hills] ended, in 2010, the jig's up. Now you're irrelevant. Your 15 minutes are up,” Spencer tells E! of how coped with the sudden harsh reality that he was of no interest to no one.

Meanwhile, his wife was still selling tabloids after developing what she refers to now as a plastic surgery addiction, which saw her undergo 10 different procedures in a single day.

Heidi, as you probably know, wanted to become a living, breathing version of the Barbie doll, so she had almost everything about her appearance changed – improved, she called it – from her nose, chin, ears, lips to her breasts, hips, abdomen, thighs and backside.

She’s come to regret her surgical makeover but, as it happens, it turns out she can make money out of regrets too.

“During After Shock: Heidi & Spencer, Montag will also discuss her multiple plastic surgeries (she recently replaced her F-cup breast implants with more manageable C-cups). Both stars will go into detail about their once lavish spending habits, over-the-top photo ops, baby plans and more,” E! informs.

If you will, “After Shock” will be like having first-row tickets to a trainwreck. So, will you be tuning in?
