Heidi Klum has just done a big gaffe telling a girl she was too fat to become a catwalk model. The blonde supermodel told the young model wannabe that she wasn't thin enough to make a career in the fashion industry.
The German gorgeous model said on TV show "Germany's Next Supermodel" that "Top designers need only girls with dream figures," meaning that only slim girls are wanted on the stages of fashion shows.
Klum is a judge on the popular TV show. After her cruel statement, she has been accused of encouraging young girls to starve themselves in order to become models. This is very serious, especially that there are more and more girls who suffer from bulimia and anorexia.
Eating disorder expert Dr Ulrich Rau said: "I consider such a TV show to be very dangerous. Most of these young girls who want to be models are already too thin," a nutrition expert, Dr. Ulrich Rau said. Eating disorder is a very serious and disastrous problem that many girls have to face nowadays. That's mostly because of the wrong role model that thin celebrities offer to female teenagers.
The show could be cut off after many angry viewers complained German broadcaster Pro-7 for promoting such a deformed image of female beauty. Till now, British singer Seal's wife hasn't made any comments about all the fuss she created around "Germany's Next Supermodel" show.
