Heidi Klum, Seal Announce Separation

So much for those rumors about trying to work things out. In a statement just released, Heidi Klum and Seal announce their decision to get a divorce.

Just hours ago, reports were saying the two were having serious issues but had decided to try and work things out, because they were still very much in love and determined to make it as a family.

It would seem all efforts to save the marriage have already been done – and they did not return the expected results.

“While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate,” the joint statement from the couple reads, as per The Hollywood Reporter.

The split is amicable and there are no hard feelings between the soon to be exes.

“We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart. This is an amicable process and protecting the well-being of our children remains our top priority, especially during this time of transition,” Heidi and Seal further say.

As always, the statement ends with the couple's request for the media to respect their privacy while they're going through this painful experience.

“We thank our family, friends, and fans for their kind words of support. And for our children’s sake, we appreciate you respecting our privacy,” the statement says.

As we also noted shortly ago, reports about the breakup started to emerge late on Friday, after Seal cryptically tweeted “The End.”

Over the weekend, rumors took over the blogosphere, with various media outlets speculating on the probable cause for the split.

Heidi and Seal have been together since 2004 and have four children together, three biological ones and a daughter form Heidi's previous relationship, whom Seal adopted.
