Former Angel for Victoria's Secret, television personality, successful businesswoman and model, Heidi Klum is definitely one to know that appearances count, especially since she makes a living off her good looks.

At 38, she's been in more campaigns, magazine spreads and fashion shows than she could have ever imagined, considering no one wanted to book her when she first got started in the industry, because she did not fit the “supermodel” mold.

She's extremely proud of her good looks but, at the same time, she's even prouder of never giving in to pressure to change something about her face and / or body.

For Heidi, she explains in a new interview with Allure, a surgically altered body is just not “pretty” so, automatically, she never even considered the option.

That's not to say though that she might never go under the knife, she adds.

“Ask me again when I’m 65, but… I’m proud to be able to say, in this day and age, I haven’t done anything,” Heidi says.

“Everyone has a view of what’s pretty and what’s not pretty, and [surgery] just doesn’t look pretty to me. Especially when I see it on really young girls,” she adds.

“I don’t want to name names, but it’s like, wow, I remember you five years ago, looking to me so beautiful, and now it’s like… who is this person? And I know girls half my age who do it. What are they gonna do at 40 or 50, when the [expletive] really hits the fan?” Klum continues.

As far as she's concerned, she's happy with being different: when she first got started in the industry, she would always have people tell her about her curves, which were the last thing one would expect to see on a model.

“I was too curvy and too busty and a little too short. And I was a little bit self-conscious about it. But I was by no means heavy, I just – well, you have hips and [breasts], and that’s it,” Heidi says in the same interview.

“Haute couture, you don’t really see girls with big [breasts]. And I always wanted first to be a model. So I had to say, 'OK, you’re going to find other things to do in this industry, or it’s maybe not my industry',” she adds.
