When you’re a woman as famous and as loved as Victoria’s Secret model Heidi Klum, even the smallest changes in your appearances can create quite a fuss. The same happened the other day, when Klum unveiled what looked like a shorter ‘do, a sleek and chic bob, which she explains as the result of some boredom setting in the hair department.

Buzz began when a few grainy pics were snapped of Heidi as she was leaving a taping for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Dressed in a body hugging beige dress and wearing sky-high Christian Louboutin peep-toe shoes, the model also seemed to be sporting a more mature ‘do, which Us Magazine names a “bob.” On Leno, Heidi even explained how she made the decision to chop off her hair.

“Why did Heidi Klum chop her long, blonde locks into a layered rocker ‘do? ‘I got bored,’ the Project Runway host, 36, explained on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno Tuesday night, ‘as we all do every once in a while as girls, so I chopped it off!’ Klum says she loves to change up her style. ‘I grow it, I cut it,’ she said. ‘Some people never change their hair and it works for them. For me, I get bored.’ Her husband, Seal, picked up on the new look. ‘Of course he notices. It would be terrible if he didn’t," she told Leno,” Us Magazine writes.

Unlike many women who cut their hair short and then almost instantly regret it, Heidi made it clear that she was not sorry for chopping it off. Not the same can be said about another celebrity mom, for instance. Kate Gosselin got a complete hair makeover to mark the beginning of the New Year (that was in January 2010), for which the tab ran somewhere in the vicinity of $7,000. Only a few days later, she reportedly hated her new look and extensions so bad she was thinking of heading back to the salon to have something done about it.

“Hair today, tears tomorrow? Kate Gosselin, 34, marked the new year by trading in her signature spiky bob for long, blonde locks in a process that took 20 hours of work and would normally cost $7,000 (hers was comped). Just one problem: ‘She hates it!’ a source tells the new issue of Us Weekly. ‘She thinks her hair looks overprocessed and damaged,’ adds the insider. ‘She’s afraid people will think she’s one of Tiger Woods’ bimbos!’ (In an online video posted Jan. 10, Gosselin looks in the mirror and says, ‘Oh, Lord have mercy... it’s weird’),” the same Us Magazine was writing back in January, as we also reported at the time.
