Quantic Dream, the French developer behind the impressive Heavy Rain interactive drama, has just presented its newest project, Beyond: Two Souls, an interactive “psychological action thriller” that stars Oscar nominated actress Ellen Page as the protagonist.
Now, developer Quantic Dream is trying once again to deliver a new type of experience through its latest project, in the form of Beyond: Two Souls.
“Beyond: Two Souls is an interactive psychological action thriller starring Oscar nominee Ellen Page (Inception, Juno) in the lead role of Jodie Holmes,” Sony, its publisher, said.
“Ever since she was born, Jodie has always been different from everyone else. She possesses supernatural powers through her psychic link to an invisible entity she calls Aiden, and this gift has changed her life forever.”
Throughout the game, players will guide Jodie through different moments in her life and have an impact on her ultimate fate.
“In Beyond: Two Souls you will experience the most striking moments of Jodie’s life as your actions and decisions determine her fate. You’ll also be able to take full control of both Jodie and the entity in spectacular action and adventure scenes. And as Jodie traverses the globe, you will face incredible challenges in emotionally charged events never before seen in a video game,” Sony added.
According to Quantic Dream, Beyond is running on a whole new game engine, meaning it’s not recycling the technology used in Heavy Rain. As such, the studio is confident that the title will set a new standard for PlayStation 3 games.
