For several weeks now, there have been countless rumors about whether Simpson's weight is down to pregnancy or just to indulging too many cravings.
Having learned her lesson the first time about how damaging to open a relationship with the press can be, Simpson is keeping very mum on the topic.
However, as it happens, it's her belly that's giving her away: attached, you will see a photo of Jess at JFK, looking very pregnant.
Though she's been covering herself recently in large sweaters and ponchos, the other day, Jessica made an exception, strutting through the airport in a black body-hugging dress and leggings.
Since certain black fabrics turn see-through in the glare of the flashes of the paparazzi, she left absolutely no doubt that her protruding tummy is not a so-called “beer gut” but actually a baby bump.
“Jessica Simpson arrived at JFK on Sunday with some extra baggage... around her midsection,” TMZ writes. It also has a better look at the alleged baby bump.
“While speculation is rampant that it's a baby bump, the 31-year-old has not confirmed if she is pregnant or not. Looks like she may need those infamous mom jeans again after all,” the e-zine adds.
Various other photos online, snapped on the same occasion, offer a better look at Simpson's protruding tummy – but she continues to keep mum on the topic.
Earlier reports said that the only reason she wasn't confirming she was pregnant was because dad and manager Joe Simpson was negotiating with celebrity magazines the right price for the confirmation.
He was asking for $500,000 (€362,555) for an exclusive interview, plus the first baby photos.
By the looks of things, Jessica won't be able to hold off confirming her pregnancy for that much longer because she's hardly able to hide her tummy anymore.
