In what will certainly turn out to be the divorce of the century, both in financial terms and ugly accusations from both sides, things are getting more and more complicated. The British 'Daily Mail' obtained the court papers Heather Mills filed not long ago and published excerpts from it in its latest issue.
According to them, the former model says that she was manhandled, beaten, cut with a piece of glass, verbally abused and humiliated all through her marriage to the former Beatle. All these happened while Sir Paul McCartney was either on drugs or drunk, two habits that he refused to quit despite his wife's pleas for sobriety.
Heather claims that, because Sir Paul was drunk and she in a bad mood over some comments somebody made of her on TV, she was once pushed over a coffee table, had a bottle of wine poured over her head and thrown into her face and then was cut with a piece of glass, that her husband broke in a fit of rage. The reason for this behavior from the man the entire world knows as balanced and calm was, according to the victim, that she had put him out of spirits by constantly nagging him.
In view of delivering a strong argument in front of the judge, Heather Mills hired the same lawyer Princess Diana had when she divorced Charles. Sir McCartney's lawyers, on the other hand, announced that he will 'bitterly deny all allegations', under the claim that they are nothing more than a desperate attempt of cleaning a bad reputation by sullying another.
Besides Heather's reported purpose of improving her public image, which had much to suffer from the appearance of the pornographic book for which she posed when she was still young, all the tabloids that ran the story of the accusations did not forget to mention that Sir Paul's estate is estimated at £825 million, a sum to which Heather has no apparent claim.
