This summer, longtime lovers Heather Locklear and Jack Wagner announced their engagement, even if they didn't set a wedding date. Today, confirmation comes that they're no longer engaged.

Heather Locklear and her daughter Ava were just two of the many celebrities who came out for the Los Angeles premiere of the most anticipated movie of the fall, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1.”

As you can see, Jack was not with them, which immediately got the glossies and the fans talking about a possible breakup.

When it became clear that Heather wasn't wearing her diamond engagement ring either, the rumor mill really picked up speed.

Confirmation comes now from her publicist, in a statement to People magazine. However, the rep doesn't offer an explanation for it, nor does he say whether the two are still together or not.

“Jack and Heather are no longer engaged,” the rep says dryly.

Word online has it that the two might not even be together anymore, since only a complete breakup would explain calling off the engagement, considering how happy they were when they made the announcement this summer.

People points to one of Heather's statements, in which she talked about how daughter Ava reacted to news of her mother marrying Jack.

“Ava was so excited when we told her. She hugged Jack, said congratulations, and she immediately wanted to see the ring. Then she ran and Facebooked her new stepbrother,” the actress told the press at the time.

The 50-year-old star already has two marriages under her belt: she was married to Tommy Lee betweet 1986 and 1993, and and Richie Sambora between 1994 and 2006.

Her fans were rooting for her and Jack to make it down the aisle because they played lovers on the television hit “Melrose Place” as well.

Amanda and Peter though made it to the altar.
