Actress Heather Locklear has been rushed to the hospital after ingesting a dangerous mix of alcohol and prescription medication. Her condition is now stable, but she has not been released yet.TMZ reports that it was Locklear's sister who called 911, presumably after finding her collapsed and learning she'd combined prescription drugs with alcohol.
She was immediately rushed to the hospital, where doctors ruled it was best if they admitted her.
“Locklear's sister called 911 at 2:05 PM PT fearing Heather was in danger. The fire department, along with the Ventura County Sheriff's Department responded. Paramedics examined Heather and determined she needed to be hospitalized,” TMZ informs.
In an update, the same e-zine notes that Heather is now in stable condition, but has not been released just yet.
No further details are yet available on the incident, if that's what it was.
“A hospital spokesperson tells TMZ, Heather was awake and responsive when she arrived today – and she is currently responding well to treatment. According to the spokesperson, Heather is doing much better now and doctors are hopeful she will be released tomorrow,” TMZ writes.
Locklear's parents are with her at the hospital.
This is not the first time that the former “Melrose Place” star is rushed to the hospital for the reason stated above.
Back in 2008, her doctor called an ambulance when he suspected Heather of overdosing on prescription drugs, saying he believed it was a suicide attempt, which was later denied by the star through her publicist.
Heather also has a history of abuse, having been in rehab at least once, as far as the media knows.
However, chances of this being a mere accident are strong, word online has it.
Just this week, the actress was spotted at the Lakers game in the company of a female friend: paparazzi shots (also available at TMZ) show she was in good spirits.
