The team at Paradox Interactive might be unwilling to offer all the info about its recently announced Hearts of Iron IV, but info coming out of the company’s convention suggests that big changes are being made to the map and to the way production systems work.

Strategy Informer reports that the developers are aiming to make it easier for gamers to get information from the game without having to switch from one map mode to another constantly.

Hearts of Iron IV will blend the most important, which means that gamers can look at the diplomacy view when they are zoomed out and planning strategic moves and can then zoom in so that they are able to see actual terrain and the units that they are commanding and the effects of weather.

Those who want more complex map modes can still select them independently for more details.

When it comes to productions, the Paradox Development Studios are trying to change the core mechanics, with a pool of resources created by every province which can then be used to equip the various units that the player will use.

Efficiency and global modifiers will be used to distinguish between countries and various political choices.

There are also changes made to the technology tree and how the gamer can explore it, with chassis used to unlock new levels for tanks and additional equipment used to make sure that various types of units become available.

Paradox has said that it wants its next grand strategy experience to be more accessible for players who are looking to get acquainted with the genre while keeping the depth that has characterized the series so far.

Hearts of Iron IV will be launched exclusively on the PC and Paradox says that it will be available in the early months of 2015.
