Blizzard has talked a bit about the future of the Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft free-to-play card game, saying that it's focusing on the Android version and the Curse of Naxxramas expansion instead of potential console versions for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, or Xbox One.

Hearthstone was revealed as a small project from large developer Blizzard last year, and it has since captured the hearts and minds of many gamers around the world across the PC and iPad platforms, and even of big eSports competitions that have begun offering major prizes to skilled players.

Blizzard itself is currently working on different improvements to the game, as well as an actual single-player campaign called Curse of Naxxramas, which should draw in those looking for a good story.

The small team is also busy with the Android tablet adaptation of the game and revealed that it's currently not thinking about a version for home consoles like the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, or Xbox One.

"The idea of getting it onto console has come up from players," Production Director Jason Chayes told Eurogamer. "It's not something we're actually looking at right now. We feel like we have our hands full in the short term with getting onto Android as soon as we can, which is kind of one of the big priorities we're looking at right now."

Chayes emphasized that Blizzard was listening to the community so, if a Hearthstone console adaptation is desired, fans should express themselves and make their voices heard.

"What we've said in the past, and this will continue to be the case, is that we want to be able to hear back from our community and our players what they're really interested in, what they're very passionate about," he explained. "If getting Hearthstone onto console is something there's a huge interest in, then we'd love to hear about that so it's something we can be thinking about."

The developer also revealed that the whole team was surprised by the amount of activity Hearthstone has been seeing on live streaming websites like Twitch, and confirmed that an actual spectator mode would be released in the near future to make casting games much easier.

"We do think we have a bunch of unique ideas on how we can integrate a spectator mode into the game. It is actually something we're right now literally in the middle of designing and we're looking at having some more information to share on that in the coming weeks as well."

Expect to hear much more about Hearthstone in the following months.
