Blizzard Entertainment has officially deployed Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft on iPad. The free-to-play digital card game is now available in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand and can be downloaded free of charge. The rest of the world is getting the game soon.

In Hearthstone you play the hero in a card game of strategy unleashing spells, summoning minions, and taking control of big chunks of land. Hearthstone promises to draw you in regardless of your card game skills.

Mike Morhaime, CEO and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment, makes the news official in a statement offered today.

“Hearthstone’s player base has already grown to more than 10 million registered accounts following the official Windows and Mac release, but we saw that a few people online were holding out for the iPad version,” says Morhaime.

“Instead of calling those folks up individually, we figured we might as well let everyone know that the global iPad rollout for Hearthstone has begun, and pretty soon it’ll be available everywhere.”

Morhaime believes Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft is “a natural fit for tablets,” and Blizzard encourages everyone to play it in any place they can take their tablets.

Blizzard says there will be Windows tablet versions and Android installments of the game released soon. Right now you can download Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft for iPad, Mac OS X, and Windows (PC).
