The big announcement coming from the Paradox Convention is that the studio is working on Hearts of Iron IV, the next installment in the long-running grand strategy title that focuses on the titanic struggle of World War II.

A teaser for the game is available and the company states, “Hearts of Iron IV challenges players to face the brutal conflict of World War II in a multifaceted grand strategy game, where history can be fully relived or rewritten from the perspective of a global superpower attempting to change the world, or a small nation simply trying to survive.”

Limited details have been offered so far, but it seems that the game is designed to be more accessible for newcomers without losing any of its depth.

Hearts of Iron III will have deeper tech trees, more strategic options and new tactical plans that will make it easier for gamers to move their armies once conflict starts.
