A new release of HealthVault Connection Center is available for download to Windows users in the United States.

Now up to version 4.1.3104.7102, the latest iteration of HealthVault Connection Center went live on the Microsoft Download Center on November 9, 2011.

The connector can be downloaded free of charge, by users needing to run it in conjunction with the HealthVault service in order to save various examples of their medical images in the Cloud.

In addition to streamlining Cloud storage, the Connection Center also simplifies access and viewing of content uploaded to HealthVault.

“Microsoft HealthVault Connection Center enables you to send measurements from health and fitness devices (such as blood pressure monitors and pedometers) to your online HealthVault account,” Microsoft reveals.

“You can also upload medical images and download, view, and burn medical images that you store in HealthVault.”

X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and ultrasounds are among the types of content that users can push to HealthVault using the connector, but the software giant is noting that additional images can also be stored and displayed with the help of the solution.

At the same time, the Connection Center enables customers to download medical content and data that a third-party uploaded to their HealthVault account. The resource comes with its own viewer, making it simple for users to look at X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and ultrasounds.

In addition, HealthVault Connection Center also comes with disc burning capabilities, for scenarios in which patients need to share medical data with another doctor for example, without providing access to their HealthVault account.

“We encourage you to get the most from your personal health or fitness devices by upgrading to this release. To check which version you have on your computer, simply click Help and then click About. If your version number is lower than 4.0.2720.xxxx, you should upgrade to this version,” the Redmond company said.

Microsoft HealthVault Connection Center for Windows (United States) is available for download here.
