This past Thursday, the Buckingham Palace housed an awards ceremony for green entrepreneurs. Prince Charles was present as this event, and he took advantage of the occasion to once again lash out against people who, for some reason, do not believe that climate change and global warming are real.

In a speech, Prince Charles stressed the fact that, given the amount of scientific evidence proving that said phenomena are as real as its gets and also a threat not just to be planet, but also to human society, it makes little sense that there are still people who deny that they are happening.

“We are told by powerful groups of deniers that the scientists are wrong and we must abandon all our faith in so much overwhelming scientific evidence,” the Prince said, as cited by The Guardian.

“So, thank goodness for our young entrepreneurs here this evening, who have the far-sightedness and confidence in what they know is happening to ignore the headless chicken brigade and do something practical to help,” he added.

If you ask me, the remark that climate change deniers are a bunch of “headless chickens” is not exactly what one would expect to hear coming out of the mouth of royalty during a public event.

Still, I suppose that desperate times do call for desperate measures, in which case it's thumbs up to Prince Charles for not hiding behind words and calling things out as he sees them.
