This is one of the things that might have been common around the time of the Second World War, but it seems that it can also happen to Hollywood stars these days too. Hayden Panettiere is finding out that the current political situation in Ukraine is throwing a spanner in the works for her wedding plans.

The petite blond is engaged to former fighter Wladimir Klitschko, a native Ukrainian who, along with his brother Vitali, is emerging as one of the more prominent supporters of the resistance movement that has been taking place for several months now.

In an interview with Parade Magazine, Panettiere touches upon the subject of her wedding plans to her boxer fiancé, and we find out that they have been put on hold by Russia's annexation of the Crimea peninsula and Ukraine's struggle to get it back.

She seems to be very understanding about the matter when she says, “Everything that’s happening in Ukraine definitely put a hold on things. But we have time.”

The American actress seems to have a very developed sense of correctness as she expressed her support for the Ukrainian cause in previous interviews, saying that she hoped Ukrainians would get “justice and democracy.”

Because of her relationship to Wladimir Klitschko, Hayden has become a sort of American ambassador and a go-to person for the local press when it comes to understanding the issue, but it turns out that it's also affecting her personal life too.

The blond “Nashville” actress has been engaged with her boxer boyfriend since October and seems to be very supportive of his cause, willing to put her wedding off until the situation clears up.

She is the latest Hollywood star to be strangely connected and affected by the Ukrainian crisis. Last month, it was announced that Justin Timberlake and Miley Cyrus would be unable to hold their scheduled appearances in Finland because of the same reason.

The matter had gotten complicated because the arena Miley and Justin were supposed to perform on was owned by two Russian brothers who were closely connected with the Russian president, Vladimir Putin. And since the American government was seeking to deny any such persons any contact with the West, it was announced that the concerts would be canceled.

However, it was later announced that some other method was found and that both Miley Cyrus and Justin Timberlake would be able to perform as scheduled.
