Now all costume upgrades for superheroes in movies are a hit. Take Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye, for example. In the new leaked photo from the set of “The Avengers: Age of Ultron,” Haweye looks a tad more dressed than in his last appearance.

While this seems to be the norm these days for superheroes (men get overdressed while female superheroes' outfits get skimpier and skimpier), Hawkeye's new uniform looks odd. The photo was published in the new issue of Empire Magazine and it shows the sharp-eyed superhero in a long jacket, sort of like a tunic.

Some fans have pointed out that this new look is more in keeping with the image the hero had in the comicbooks, but that's quite a stretch of the imagination. But fans are also quick to point out that this new uniform looks a lot more impractical.

For the first movie, Hawkeye had only a sleeveless shirt on, which made more sense, since he's got a lot of running, shooting and fighting to do. This latter uniform looks more cumbersome, though it does offer better projectile protection. But since this isn't the real army, fans are getting a little upset.

Director Joss Whedon has confirmed that Hawkeye has a more complex role in the latest Avengers movie, which is maybe why they decided to give him a coat. What do you think of Hawkeye's new look? Does he remind you of D'Artagnan?
