Hawken, the mech combat game from Adhesive Games which uses the free-to-play concept, will get a live action series from DJ2 Entertainment and Warner Premier during 2013.

The series will focus on two pilots, each of them from a different faction, who are fighting on a planet affected by a nano virus, and who partner up in order to investigate its origins and its impact.

Dan Jevon, the creative director on the series, stated, “They witness an event that suggests there is more to the nano-virus than meets the eye. Now the race is on to discover the virus’ origins and true purpose before their respective clans wipe each other out in a final, climatic battle.”

Hawken allows players to choose a type of mech and then outfit it with weapons and other equipment before throwing it into multiplayer-oriented battlefields.

Hawken will be launched on the PC on December 12 of this year.
