The Witch Princess conjured up a prank that went too far! Now it's up to you to restore the magic of Forget-Me-Not Valley. Seek out all 101 Harvest Sprites as you plant fields, tend livestock and find the right wife to share your farming dreams! As you find the missing Harvest Sprites, they
can help with chores around the farm... some might even unlock various activities or important information! The game takes place in Forget-Me-Not-Valley, 100 years after Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life. Unlike the previous games in the series, which create new characters based on old ones, the characters in Harvest Moon: DS are exactly the same as the ones in A Wonderful Life and Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town.

The story of the game mirrors that of Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life and Harvest Moon: Magical Melody for the GameCube while the gameplay follows Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town for the Game Boy Advance. The Harvest Goddess has been petrified and sent to another world by the Witch Princess, and it is up to the player to restore her. In Magical Melody, this is done by collecting magical music notes, but in Harvest Moon: DS, the player must find and rescue the Harvest Sprites from the other world by doing various tasks. Once the player finds 60 sprites, the goddess will be revived, and the player will be able to propose to any of the potential wives. (Wikipedia)

GAMEPLAY HINTS

Four easy money making tips

1. After you get the Legendary Sword from the bottom of the second mine and unlock the Super Field behind the waterfall, go there in the Fall and plant Yams. Because the Waterfall Field speeds up growth by one day and the Yams regrow every two days, there will be a new harvest every day after the initial harvest.

2. If you are lucky enough to get the Miracle Gloves from the Harvest Sprite casino, have them equipped while you are going through the mines. Whenever you excavate anything you do not need, such as rubble, toss it immediately so that it is shipped. This is a good method to save the Harvest Sprites unlocked by number of items shipped.

3. When you get three fishing sprites, make them fish at the beach. You will get a huge sum of money each day.

4. Dig at the mines and try to get jewelry. Then on day 3 and 8 when Van is selling his items at his store, sell them to him. However, try to get the prices up to 3,000 gold or more.

The game lacks image detail and is just a better version of the mineral town version, which isn't good, making the DS version okay, but not as good.3/5
