Harvest Moon DS is the first game in the farm simulation series developed by Marvelous Interactive and published by Nintendo exclusively for the
DS handheld consoles. The game was released in Japan on the 17th of March 2005, the 12th of September 2006 in the United States, the 13th of April 2007 in Europe and the 7th of June in Australia.
An interesting twist to the game is brought by the fact that the player can also get married if he is able to find 60 Harvest Sprites. Of course, none of the things you have to do in the game is easy and, unfortunately, there are numerous glitches. Here is a list of them - you can use these glitches to your own advantage:
GLITCHES
Leave the screen Get on your horse. Go to a place where there are two walls on each side near the transition area (for example, the entrance to the beach). Get as close as you can to the edge of the screen without going to the next area. Have your horse touch and face the right wall. Get off the horse. You will be off the screen but still able to move left and right. To exit, just move back towards your horse. You will instantly move to the area you were near.
Buckwheat Flour During the New Year's Festival, most games receive Buckwheat Noodles instead of the flour. This will then make your cooking list and shipment list incomplete, ruining the chance to marry the Harvest Goddess.
Animal Deaths do not count In order to trigger the Witches Purple Heart event you will need to have killed fifty of your own animals. However the game does not count them correctly, so the "death toll" will never reach 50, ruining your chances of marrying the witch.
Milker level goes up faster After your milker reaches level 1, every time you use it afterwards it goes up another level. This is useful for getting level 99 for your milker, which means every time you milk a cow you will get 99 bottles of milk.
Brushing increases milk and wool levels Brush your horse. Switch your brush to the milker while the brush is still moving. You will get a level 2 milk. If you equip your shears while the brush is still moving you will get a level 2 wool.
Easy milk and wool Brush an animal (any except for dog, chicken, cat, or duck) with the Touch Gloves and then tap "Back" and quickly switch the brush with the milker or wool cutter. You will get milk or wool. This works better if you upgrade your milker to level 99.
Unlimited life in mines When in the in the mines, if you fall in the hole and it drops you a large amount (100 or more), just before you die drink a Bodigizer (by switching the Bodigizer to the slot very quickly). Note: If you put the Bodigizer in the slot next to the green slot it helps for quick access.
Leia gets blown away If you marry Leia she will live in your pond outside. However, your pond can still be blown away due to a storm. If this happens Leia will disappear permanently, even if you re-build the pond. This can really affect your chances of having a baby.
I have a Really BAD glitch. If you have your cat or dog in the house and you build a basement with lumber,stone or gold lumber and then build somthing else you could get your dog or cat stuck in the wall of the basement and they cant get out! :( That happened on my game...
i have two glitches but both of them really dosen't help. sometimes your data may get corpret for no reasing so the best thing to do is save on both diary so then you can save on the corpret data. the next one is cody the magicen (the one who lives in the traler) insted of going in his house he will disaper in it go to him at 1000 pm he sometimes will disaper at 1010 or 1020 AND DO NOT SPEAK TO HIM 2-3 SECONDS BEFORE HE DISAPERS THIS WILL DAMAGE YOUR DATA. I LOOK AT MY MONEY I HAD ABOUT 12122G AND EACH TIME I WALK MY MONEY WOULD CHANGE SOMETIMES HIGHER SOMETIMES LOWER AND I LOST ALL OF MY ITEMS AND WHEN I ENTERED MY HOUSE THE GAME JUST FROZE and i forgot to save i was 200 lp to marry lumina and i had to load my data and my heart level was at green:(
My game froze not too long after i had a kid which made me sad :( someone asked about fishing. It works for me between 6-9am put a message up if it works

I have another glitch. If you want your pregnant sheep to move out of it's spot on the Pregnant-Sheep-Cow-Hay push another sheep that isn't pregnant to the pregnant one and they will both move. I freaked out when that happened to me. I am not sure if it works for the cows but I think it will work...
Really annoying glitch/problem.
Make sure you keep an eye on your Legendary Sword/Blue Feather, because sometimes it just.disappears.
I just realized this when I got up to 60 harvest sprites to unlock the Harvest Goddess, and when I tried to propose to Muffy the Blue Feather was GONE :(
I can't get the million dollar fishing thing to work in winter, does anyone know the exact way you are supposed to do it to get it to work?

it works for me if you order them on the first of winter then wait a few days then check your cash

to get the fishing to work you have to do this stuff in irder
1. hire a sprite to fish at the beach for one day on fall 29
2. go fishing at the beach on fall 30 the sprite isnt there that day
3. give the sprite the fish you catch on winter 1
4. on winter 2 or 3 youll have alot of money
so many glitches in harvest moon. do anyone know how to level up milk not milker?

You have to win the cow festival, the cow is then lvl.2 and can birth more level 2 cows. You can win the cow festival by having max hearts on your cow.
OMG I WAS PLAYING FOR AGES I HAD MARRIED LEIA, HAD A CHILD, HAD A BILLION G, AND THEN I SAVED BUT IT FROOOOOOOOZE AND MY DATA WAS GONE!!!!!! aaaaarrrrggghhhh!!!!
