“The Twilight Saga” is undeniably the biggest movie franchise of our times, as the millions of fans around the world can vouch. The “Twilight” phenomenon also relies heavily on Stephenie Meyer’s four books, which is where it all started. Harvard University is not oblivious to the cultural impact “Twilight” has had, and has chosen to pay due tribute with a parody novel called “Nightlight.”

“Nightlight” is “Twilight” with a twist and plenty of dosed humor and it will come out on November 3, but preorders for it are already available on Amazon.com. As with everything else “Twilight,” true fans are showing a great interest in the upcoming novel, Twilight Lexicon, one of the biggest Twilight fansites, being among the first to report on it. Even without the Twilight connection, the upcoming release from The Harvard Lampoon still stands on its own as a great read, it is being said.

“About three things I was absolutely certain. First, Edwart was most likely my soul mate, maybe. Second, there was a vampire part of him – which I assumed was wildly out of his control – that wanted me dead. And third, I unconditionally, irrevocably, impenetrably, heterogeneously, gynecologically, and disreputably wished he had kissed me.” Belle Goose, the female protagonist of “Nightlight,” says in the opening lines of the parody coming from The Harvard Lampoon.

The story is the same as in “Twilight,” the only difference being that now it’s those very things that have made fans love Edward and Bella that are being mocked, a description of the upcoming book reveals. The vampire is still good-looking and the human girl is still very confused about why he wouldn’t have anything to do with her. She falls for him and he starts stalking her; afterwards, they start dating, all the while her father being completely oblivious to the strange things happening at times right under his roof, as he sleeps.

“Pale and klutzy, Belle arrives in Switchblade, Oregon looking for adventure, or at least an undead classmate. She soon discovers Edwart, a super-hot computer nerd with zero interest in girls. After witnessing a number of strange events – Edwart leaves his tater tots untouched at lunch! Edwart saves her from a flying snowball! – Belle has a dramatic revelation: Edwart is a vampire. But how can she convince Edwart to bite her and transform her into his eternal bride, especially when he seems to find girls so repulsive? Complete with romance, danger, insufficient parental guardianship, creepy stalker-like behavior, and a vampire prom, ‘Nightlight’ is the uproarious tale of a vampire-obsessed girl, looking for love in all the wrong places.” the description on Amazon.com goes.
