We might be crushing millions of girls' hearts with this news, but it has to be said since it might save them a lot of grief later on. Harry Styles, British heartthrob and singer in the very popular pop band One Direction, is raising eyebrows in relation to his orientation and preferences when it comes to a partner.

Harry Styles recently sat down for an interview with Lucy Jones, alongside his band member Liam Payne, and during a segment of the On Demand Entertainment called Fourplay, he answered all sorts of playful questions from his fans on Twitter.

Harry Styles doesn't think a female partner would be that important for him

Harry was being really shy and yet funny when he claimed that he was the worst at singing, skateboarding, gymnastics and speaking. Fans from around the world gushed at his honesty, but they weren't ready for the bombshell he was about to drop.

The next question was to have him describe his ideal partner. Payne decided to step in and cracked a joke by saying “Female. That's an important trait,” but Harry interrupted him and shook his head in denial “Not that important.”

Instead, Harry said that he appreciated in a potential partner the “sense of humor ” and “being nice to people,” but gender was not that important. As you can imagine, this comes as a huge blow to the millions of female fans he has around the world, the thought that their idol is also very fond of boys, not just girls.

Harry has raised eyebrows before, but it's never been confirmed that he fancies boys and girls alike

This is not the first time Harry has sparked gay rumors since a few years ago Harry tackled the rumor in an interview with British GQ. When asked if he and radio DJ Nick Grimshaw were an item, the singer denied, claiming they were just friends. The reporter pushed and asked if he was bi, to which Harry replied “I don't think so. I'm pretty sure I'm not.”

Since his rise to fame, Harry has been linked to a number of beautiful girls, including Kendall Jenner, so we know for a fact that he fancies girls, but the big question now is if he also fancies boys. Not that there's anything wrong with that, there are plenty other successful singers out there who are bi and it hasn't hurt their image one bit. George Michael would be one.
