Without a doubt, the Harry Potter series of books and movies is one of the best-known fantasy franchises of all times, the books being translated into numerous languages and read by millions of people from all over the world, while the movies enjoyed an even higher level of popularity, especially since they were shot more or less in the same time frame the books arrived on the market (with just a couple of years' difference).

Anyway, given its huge success, it should come as no surprise that the Harry Potter series has created a whole industry around it, especially as far as accessories are concerned, and that's exactly the type of products we'll talk about as follows, namely the Harry Potter Infrared Battling Wand presented by the people over at ThinkGeek, a device that, with the help of your imagination, could propel you right into the world of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows (the latest book/movie in the franchise).

The Infrared Battling Wand is somewhat of an adaption of the much better-known laser tag technology, and provides all sorts of special effects that remind us of the movies (the tips light up as spells are “cast” and the sounds are quite accurate too).

The wands also sport a “Healing Charm" feature, that lets users give up one unit of life to help out an ally.

Moreover, the toys are available in four different versions (Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Voldemort), so that would-be characters can choose the one that best suites their tastes (and their favorite character), are powered by 3 AAA batteries and are 14-inches long.

Last, but certainly not least, we'll have to mention that your transformation into one of the Harry Potter characters shouldn't set you back too much, the Harry Potter Infrared Battling Wand selling for just around 23 US dollars.

Before we go, we'll leave you with a short movie recorded by ThinkGeek, so that you'll be able to see for yourselves just what level of “realism” you can expect from these “magic” IR wands.
