The EA Play division of publisher Electronic Arts and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have announced that they are collaborating on creating a version of the upcoming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 for the Nintendo DS family of handheld devices.

The video game will follow the plot of the movie of the same names, following Harry Potter, together with his friends Hermione and Ron, as they leave the protective shell of Hogwarts in order to find and destroy Voldermont's Horcruxes.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 will offer a variety of environments to explore and will rely on each new space to offer new enemies and new puzzles to solve.

The main character can only progress as they join magical forces with his sidekicks and create new spells able to take them out of tough situations and towards the end of their quest.

The Nintendo DS version of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 will also offer a multiplayer mode where the player can be either Harry or a Dementor and fight in order to get the highest score, with the Wi Fi Connection of the device used to set up games.

The new Harry Potter game will also be launched for the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3, the PC, the Nintendo Wii and mobile devices.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 is currently set to be launched on November 16 in North America and three days later in Europe to accompany the movie of the same name.

Part 2 is currently scheduled to launch during the month of July next year.

The new Harry Potter game will be much more action and combat oriented, mimicking the change of tone that is also seen in the movie and the book on which it is based.

The game also has a special mode for the Xbox 360 home console which uses the Kinect motion tracking system to allow gamers to create spells by using their hands and body.
