The video game
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets was released in 2002. It was published by Electronic Arts and developed by Eurocom for the PlayStation 2, Xbox and GameCube systems. It was simultaneously developed by Amaze Entertainment for the PC the Game Boy Advance and Game Boy Color handheld systems. An original version was also created for the PlayStation One. Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger return to Hogwarts School of Magic to begin their second year.
All is not peaceful, however: Students are being petrified and there are rumors of an Heir of Slytherin being behind it all. Suspicion turns to
Harry, but when Ginny Weasley is kidnapped and taken into the Chamber of Secrets, Harry and Ron are forced to go in and rescue her.
GlitchesAn endless glitch in the game allows Harry to hop
on people's heads forever. If Harry stands at the top of the stairs of the entrance hall, at the exact place where passing students turn, he will block them. After 20 seconds, the students will then (of their own free will) walk towards the banisters and walk into them for about five minutes. Another glitch will cause the final battle to last forever. Sometimes, if the sword spell backfires, it won't weaken the player. It will, however, cause Harry to continuously charge the spell, it will also make him invincible, causing the battle to never end.
Another notable glitch causes characters to appear as though they are "inside out." This is achieved by angling the camera in a particular way; the result is often a view of the inside of a character's head and the player can clearly see their eyes, teeth and tongue. It can be quite alarming when this happens accidentally, but amusing when done intentionally.
Items such as imps, gnomes and the mandrake root can also become stuck in Harry's hand, immobile, when he picks them up. This glitch can occur in a number of ways, but dropping the item usually solves the problem (there are enough mandrake roots that if you "lost" one, it would not matter to the game).
There is also a glitch that allows the player to walk on water, by going down to the boat house when the game allows you there as part of one of the minigames and pushing the analogue stick at a certain point and angle from the far 'pier' (one of two that jut out into the water). Harry can then walk all the way across the lake to the outside wall of the main area.
