The Harry Potter star has recently expressed his opinion on his character's success to the public.
Daniel Radcliffe is convinced that boys relate to Harry because he is hopeless with girls.
In real life, boys might face the same embarrassing problems Harry has to deal with, while attempting to win over Hermione Granger or trying to talk with a girl he likes.
"He's completely pathetic with girls and through that I think I'm standing up for any guy who has ever had an awkward moment with a girl", Radcliffe said.
"I am slightly better than Harry but not much", the teenage actor confessed.
Irving Kelter, chair of UST's history department, who sometimes talks about Harry Potter in classes, said: "Harry is dealing with the problems of all children growing up, like bullies in schools. (
) A lot of kids have to deal with bullies and the onset of puberty."
Harry has the same concerns and doubts like most boys have, but he is somehow special for his ability to do something about it, which empowers him and his young readers.
Daniel Radcliffe has recently confirmed he will continue to play the young wizard in the future.
"Ultimately it comes down to whether we're still enjoying it. If we are, then I think we would be sort of stupid not to do them", the actor told IMDb.com.
"As long as I'm doing other stuff around the same time, I think it'll be fine. Also, I sort of try to read the books when they come out impartially and not make up my mind, but the fact is when I was reading the sixth, 'Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince', there were bits in there where I was going, 'God, I would love to do that because it's so good'", he added.
